An A4 calendar squeezed onto US Letter shrinks to roughly 94% and leaves uneven borders. Scaling that file down to A5 thins the hairlines. Every Minimal calendar is drawn separately for A4 (210 × 297 mm), A5 (148 × 210 mm), and US Letter (8.5 × 11 in), so you print at 100% actual size.
